 en of Shorncliffe, from the battlefields of Waterloo in 1815 to Vimy Ridge 
 in 1916.\n\nAs part of the nationwide Heritage Open Days, the Old Fire Stat
 ion will open its doors for a fascinating weekend of military history, rare
  artefacts, colourful displays, films and living history — and it’s complet
 ely FREE!\n\n🎖️ Meet the Riflemen\n\nDiscover what life was really like for
  a 95th Rifleman in 1815 and a Rifleman in 1916.\n\nUniformed soldiers will
  be at the Old Fire Station throughout the weekend, bringing the displays t
 o life and answering your questions. See the weapons, equipment and persona
 l kit used by soldiers of two very different eras — and you may even get th
 e chance to try some of the kit for yourself!\n\nHear the stories of the me
 n who lived, trained and prepared for war at Shorncliffe during the Napoleo
 nic Wars and the First World War.\n\n🥁 Rare treasures from the past\n\nAmon
 g the fascinating artefacts on display will be a rare Canadian First World 
 War bugle and our latest acquisition — a Canadian WW1 drum.\n\nThese remark
 able objects offer a tangible connection to the men who served and the even
 ts that shaped generations.\n\n🎬 Meet Stanley Robinson – aged 99\n\nEach af
 ternoon, join us for a special showing of “Meeting Stanley”, a film telling
  the story and poetry of Stanley Robinson — a local Second World War vetera
 n, born in Sandgate and still living in Folkestone.\n\nIt is a unique oppor
 tunity to discover the personal story of a local man whose life was shaped 
 by war, memory and poetry.\n\n🥾 Walk in the footsteps of history\n\nEach mo
 rning, join one of our guided tours of the historic Shorncliffe training gr
 ounds.\n\nExplore the places where generations of soldiers trained and disc
 over:\n\n· General Sir John Moore’s Redoubt\n\n· The extraordinary story of
