Sandgate Great British Beach Clean 2026

Every year we take part in the Marine Conservation Society's Great British Beach Clean where we both clean the beach and record all the rubbish. This data then gets sent off to the Marine Conservation Society along with all the data from beach cleans from all around the country.

Meet: 10.30am at the benches near The Boathouse Café, Granville Parade.

This year we will be having refreshments after in the Reading Room at The Old Fire Station so please come along and join us. If you can join us please help us make sure we have enough equipment by emailing sandgateenvironmentalaction@gmail.com or by signing up on the Great British Beach Clean 2026 website

We have six different sections of the beach to collect rubbish from and survey and will need help. Please let us know if you can help with any of these:

  • Collecting and giving out the equipment
  • Leading a group on a section of the beach (basically making sure they are in the right place and collecting in the data)
  • Helping get the reading room ready for refreshments afterwards
  • Providing a cake /savoury snack/anything really for the refreshments

Of course if you just want to show up that is also great, just please remember to sign up.
